The Makings of Me

Neressa age 25

In the above picture, I was 25 years old, in a long -term relationship and had recently graduated from University. I had a relationship with God, but I didn’t know my purpose. A few months prior, I was hired at an organisation, but I wasn’t sure if it was the right fit for me since it was entry level and I had  received my Bachelor’s degree a year prior. When I prayed I  always asked God for my purpose. I always asked, “What do you want me to do with my life Lord?” I was eager to know what I was placed on this earth to do.  I was happy, but I wanted to know my PURPOSE. While in college I read T.D. Jakes’ book “Instinct” as a way of trying to unlock the drive within me and guide me to my purpose. It was a good read however, what I came to realise is that we can read all the self-help books we’d like, but we need to apply what we read or else it’ll be in vain.

That was me then….

4 years later

On the right, I am 29 and I have a new perspective on Life. I’ve been single for over a year, I’m enjoying my current position at my job and stopped worrying about what people say about me and starting focusing on what I want for myself. My relationship with God has grown even stronger although there are a few bumps along the way. I started a business “Anja Beauty” and God is slowly revealing my purpose. That’s one thing I learned along the way your purpose or visions are revealed in stages. God gives you a glimpse of your purpose every now and again, but if you don’t have discernment you’ll miss it. God revealed to me a few years ago that I’ll be on Youtube page and my response was “Okay” because at the time although I didn’t know how I still accepted the challenge.  I didn’t exactly KNOW what God wanted for me until this year and he is still revealing things to me even now. God is guiding me through my business and relationships. If you remain in God he will guide you too.

I no longer ask God “what is my purpose?”,

NOW I ASK,  “God what is the purpose of anyone in my life or those coming into my life.”

God’s got me.
