Why I Don’t Acknowledge Valentine’s Day

While the world is preparing for Valentine’s Day, pondering what to get their significant others, I am just watching thinking this is crazy!

Why wait for Valentine’s Day to show someone you love or care about them?

In High School, some girls received gifts, you know the standard flowers and teddy bears and thought how amazing it was, and sometimes I was a bit jealous. When I started being in relationships, I received gifts on Valentine’s Day, but I never got excited as I thought I’d be.

As time went by, I began to reflect on my life and relationships, and it dawned on me that ONE DAY out of 365 days shouldn’t signify how much a person means to you.

Hence the reason why I don’t acknowledge Valentine’s Day or any special days indicated on the calendar.

You should show that person you care about them daily not just on Valentine’s Day, Birthdays or Christmas. Waiting for special days is pointless in these times, especially since death seems so causal.

And Ladies, men deserve random gifts too! It’s unfair for him to always take you out and pay for things, TREAT HIM SOMETIMES.

Be Random. Don’t wait for a specific day to share your feelings with someone.

Valentine’s Day is overrated. Show me you love me daily.

Those Just Because gifts hit different.
